Maine Parity Violations Complaint FormDemand Accountability
|
Although the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act passed in 2008 to insure that behavioral health treatment may not be subject to different or more stringent coverage requirements, national and state parity surveys indicate that non reimbursement for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders remains a common place practice with Commercial Insurance Providers posing a grave risk to human life.
This site is intended to collect data to demonstrate that this practice is prevalent in Maine. We urge you to take the time to complete the form when you receive a denial of coverage. We will provide quarterly statistical reports that illustrate claim denial trends by carrier, denial codes, service type and other data points.
We would graciously accept your feedback and would be happy to discuss additions, modifications, etc. We will be adding a membership page for providers who are interested in advancing this issue so our clients receive the treatment commensurate with their healthcare policy. If we work together, we can make a difference!
